Nimbin Online Market is a virtual market to provide an outlet for the many talented and resourceful people of Nimbin and surrounding area. Nimbin has a multitude of artists, crafts people and other resourceful people whose work is mostly unseen by a bigger audience. Items will range from practical to the purely aesthetic. Music and art are intrinsic to our souls. We are just taking our first steps here at NOM but hope to grow and thus represent all facets of this wonderful community. Nimbin is in the Rainbow Region.
Our main goal is to show the world that Nimbin is more than just a joint! Talent and ingenuity abound here.
Like all markets you need to wander around to enjoy the whole experience of the range of products offered by our stalls. New stalls are coming so visit again soon.

Nimbin Community Solar Farm NEEDS YOU
NNIC has been funded to build a solar farm in Nimbin. Due to the recently announced NSW legislation regarding the Solar Feed in Tariff, it would appear that we are unable to locate the entire farm in one place. We are seeking Expressions Of Interest from any community-based organisations located in the village of Nimbin who would be interested in participating in the Nimbin Community Solar Farm by hosting an array of 10kW or less on the roof of their premises. NNIC will provide a percentage of the income generated by the solar farm to the Host organisations. The income for Hosts is likely to be similar to the income they would receive from a 1kW grid feed system installed at their premises .. but without any cost outlay for the equipment. If your organisation is interested, please contact Nat at NNIC.

Yes surveys suck but it is time for the Nimbin community to STAND UP AND BE COUNTED! YOu will find a copy of the Nimbin Sustainability Survey inside this December Community Calendar. The survey is being conducted on behalf of the Nimbin Food Liberation Front and has two purposes.
Part A - designed to collect some data data on the current sustainability of Nimbin including its catchment areas.
Part B - is for the purpose of the Food Liberation Front's investigations into the feasibility of establishing a food co-op or Farmers Market in Nimbin.

Our Plan for this Site
We want to provide a site for local people in the area to advertise. We hope you will take advantage of this site and help
to make it a place to promote Nimbin and the alternative lifestyle
that is much cherished in this region.
The web site serves two main functions -
Firstly a web page where anyone can sell/advertise whatever craft
or service they wish; a place to showcase to the world and sell to
a virtually unlimited market.
And secondly, this site will allow those who cannot
see the wonders of Nimbin in person to see the culture online and purchase
the same kind of local art, craft, stickers, posters and memento's.
Nimbin has a multitude of artists and crafts people whose work
is mostly unseen by a bigger audience. Covering local woodworkers creating
stunning furniture pieces and didgeridoo to artwork by some very talented
locals including work by Bunjalung Indigenous artists. Clothing stores
offer fashion of all kinds but with that genuine Nimbin flavour.
A separate web page will be created and items added. All you need to do is provide the images of your work plus descriptions to go with them. We will create a web page and add the images and information. Contact can be set to directly email you or via us if you do not have internet. This option can be selected even if you have internet but wish us to be first contact. Note all email addresses are encrypted to avoid spam.
We are hoping to charge $50 - $150 per year for the maintenance and support. This will also include the initial design and set up of your page. You will have your own web address as a sub domain of Nimbin Online Market. The price range will accommodate those who wish for us to do more of the management of their sales ie have us manage the actual sale and dispatch. You can have a PayPal 'buy now' buttons using either your own account or ours. This would incur a additional one off fee for the setting up and adding the buttons..
There are vintage/vogue couture and elegant designer fashion originals
plus accessories at The Gorgeous Joint; Daizy has
a huge range of apparel with a distinctly hippie flavour plus the biggest
range of stickers (some a little indecent) available in the Nimbin
area plus all kind of knickknack's and accessories. Nimbin
Magic has a great range of Souvenirs from hemp leaf items
and marijuana paraphernalia to a good range of clothing, stickers,
posters and more - the list is simply endless.
Red Leaf Graphic & IT caters to those wanting printing
work. Sporting several Wide Format Printers they can print up to 62
inches wide any length. Perfect for advertising banners and signs.
Already you will find several links to sites which
have a varied and exciting range of goods.
We know there are many people in the Nimbin Hills who create
some amazing art - we hope to hear from you. We will endeavour to advertise in the Nimbin Good Times with details for those without internet access.
We hope the Nimbin Online Market will make it affordable and
easy for these artists to share their creations and for others to purchase
these creations.
It is our endeavour to not so much to provide an online outlet
for existing shops but to provide an outlet for the many local artists
who have limited outlets for their work. We hope the concept of selling
online will be accepted
and taken up by the wider community of artists in the Northern Rivers
area.
