Site 1 BFACT Bridge Association ACT

BFACT not edited since 2008

BFACT has three main roles. First, it is responsible for running a number of competitions to select players to represent the ACT at the national level principally in the Australian National Championships (ANC). Every eight years or so, we have to actually run an ANC here in Canberra. We probably spend a large proportion of Council meeting time discussing aspects of this function. Second, BFACT has a broad mandate to promote the playing of duplicate bridge in clubs in the region (this includes director training, interclub competitions, youth bridge and start-up assistance for new clubs). Third, we represent the interests of ACT bridge players on the national body, the Australian Bridge Federation (ABF). Most ACT bridge players intuitively would say we don’t do enough to promote bridge (and may well be right) and the same bridge players probably wouldn’t trade a winning finesse for knowing what we do at ABF meetings.

site 3 Border Ranges Centre The newest tourist facility serving the Northern Rivers Rainbow Region

img

We offer clean modern amenities, spacious and grassy camping and van sites along with a new backpacker facility with the spectacular views of the southern edge of the Border Ranges National Park. Just down the road is the Hanging Rock Falls - a great place for a swim or to just relax and feed the turtles

With all your food and beverage supplies available on site you can breakfast with the wallabies and ducks, visit the park during the day and enjoy a fireside meal and perhaps some music with the locals in the evening. Whatever you choose to do you'll love the park and the people of the area.

Dogs under control are welcome and can be left on site during park visits.

site 4 Nimbin Online Market A place for creative locals to share with the world

img

Nimbin Online Market is a virtual market to provide an outlet for the many talented and resourceful people of Nimbin and surrounding area. Nimbin has a multitude of artists, crafts people and other resourceful people whose work is mostly unseen by a bigger audience. Items will range from practical to the purely aesthetic. Music and art are intrinsic to our souls. We are just taking our first steps here at NOM but hope to grow and thus represent all facets of this wonderful community. Nimbin is in the Rainbow Region.

Our main goal is to show the world that Nimbin is more than just a joint! Talent and ingenuity abound here.

About me

authorI have been using computers since the early 1980's with experience in many areas. I have completed many computer courses as well as studying Computing at Canberra College of Education (now Canberra University). There is a multitude of free sites that I have created but there are too many to list.

I was a founding partner in Ezyuse in Canberra, ACT. The business's main focus is POS (point-of-sale) solutions for businesses.

Apart from enjoying building web pages I love photography. I have a range of Australian native flora images and some of my graphics available to use on products via Zazzle and Arts Now.

webuy4au.com started up at in January 2006. It was soon evident that we needed a web site and the obvious solution was for me to build it. The basic site grew into a large multi-page site in a very short time. It has recently been totally revamped without the multitude of pages.

In the time since starting I have built several web sites and continue to maintain these sites as required.

Frontpage was the starting place but that was soon outgrown and replaced by Dreamweaver. I use CSS to compile the site structure. I have not progressed to PHP.

You will find many references to me (pixiemb) on the internet. I am involved in several support forums, one I set up for Australian Sufferers. I am passionate about the environment, education and human rights.
